What Was Meant for Your Harm

My children and my students are always teaching me important lessons about life and about God. The other day, one of my boisterous students was annoying me and the whole class. So, I sent Little Miss to the classroom next door to finish her test. She was so upset that I had sent her to another room away from all of her friends that she could have spit nails. Well, after being next door for a few minutes, one of the parents of a student in the other classroom appears pushing a cart full of juices and cupcakes. It was her daughter’s birthday, and they were going to have a party in the room. Little Miss got to join in the fun. She received a cupcake and juice and candy. When she finished her test and her cupcake, Little Miss came back to class excited. She said, “See Ms. Shields, what you mean to hurt me actually helped me.” Although I wondered at the irony of her situation, I did have to admit that she was right. What the world means to use for our harm is often turned around for our good. And, no weapon formed against us shall be able to prosper. As children of the Most High, we have these promises.

Isaiah 54: 17: No weapon formed against me shall be able to prosper:

Genesis 50: 20: But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
